  1. Hi!

Funny enough, I am listening to some Sankomota music. Thank you so much for shedding the light on the formative years of what is one of the most incredible bands I have come to know.

The passing on ntate Frank was sad indeed. I would’ve liked to see him perform live, but he died just before a christmas concert where the group was supposed to perform.

There are also a lot of political issues surrounding BJ’s death. The government (or its allies) wants him to be exhumed from the place where he’d wished to be buried to another place. I had also wanted to interview him at one point; his colourful character had been revealed to me via a television interview he did a while ago.

I know ntate Nkofo’s son, and we have been planning to do a documentary on Uhuru/Sankomota, and the legacy they have left.

Should we see it through, I shall let you know.

Once again, thank you for a very insightful article, and all the best in your endeavours!
